Not a Coincidence. Not Even Close.
About a month ago, I was going through a tough stretch, battling through a difficult situation. One day while out on a run, I had praise and worship music playing, and “See a Victory”—a song we often sing at church—came on. The lyrics brought me to tears while running through Riverside. That song became my anchor. I played it several times throughout the week, and each time, it helped calm the storm I was feeling inside. The message is simple: the battle belongs to the Lord. My job is to trust Him—because I will see a victory.
That Sunday, something powerful happened. A young man from our church (who knew what I was battling) came up and asked to pray with me and Rachel. As he started praying, the praise and worship team began playing that exact song. No one could’ve orchestrated that but God.
Now flash forward to today. I was up late last night wrestling with something heavy, and I still felt defeated this morning—even after praying. Midday, I had to run a quick errand. I got in the truck, didn’t touch the stereo, didn’t pull out my phone—just started driving in silence. About three minutes into the trip, with my phone still in my pocket, music suddenly started playing on its own.
And wouldn’t you know it? “See a Victory” came on the Apple CarPlay.
I didn’t press a button. I didn’t ask for a sign. But I got one. And it was exactly what I needed. A reminder from Jesus that He sees me, He’s with me, and that everything is going to be okay.
And guess what happened tonight? I got in the truck, started the engine and that song started playing immediately. It usually plays the last song I listened to, but this wasn’t the last track I had played—I was at least six or seven songs past it earlier.
I’m gonna see a victory,
For the battle belongs to You, Lord.
