DDP Yoga burns a lot of calories
Check this out…
Ran 9 miles with the Fleet Feet group this morning, some of us went to breakfast and then home for a 30 minute DDP Yoga session. My average heart rate during DDPY (and calorie burn per minute) was almost identical to my run. This morning’s run was at a relaxed 10:26 pace.
Think about that, “yoga” burns comparable calories as jogging ten and a half minute miles. Plus DDPY has zero joint impact m, is on a 2’x6’ yoga mat without any equipment and you don’t need to leave the house. Not only did I get the calorie burn, I also benefitted from strength and flexibility training.
The biggest difference between DDPY and traditional yoga is focus on muscle engagement and dynamic resistance. This is why we wear heart rate monitors. My peak heart rate in today’s DDPY was 153; my average daily resting is 43. DDPY is for any fitness level. If you think you are too overweight and/or out of shape for a fitness plan, check into it. Better yet, watch “Relentless” on Amazon Prime. Even if you need to use a chair or can only do 5 minutes a day to start. As we get older, increasing flexibility and range of motion is critical to eliminating day-to-day pain. Between DPPY and cryotherapy, I went from spinal stenosis to completing a 40 mile run in just 3 years. Believe me, no matter who you are, you can do this. I believe in this program 100%. Its how I came back from the car accident injuries and what has propelled me from marathoner to ultra-marathoner in a short period of time. This is exactly why I am studying to become an instructor. I’m 45 years old with permanent back injuries and feel better than I did 15 years before the injury.
Cryotherapy + DDPY for life.
Go get it.
