2027 STARTS NOW | WEEK 4

MAKE MOVEMENT PART OF YOUR DAY.

One of the biggest mistakes people make when starting a fitness journey is believing they need to do too much, too soon.

They picture hour-long workouts, running several miles, or going to the gym five days a week. And when that feels overwhelming, they convince themselves they don’t have the time, energy, or ability to get started.

But here’s the thing. You don’t have to be in shape to start moving. You start moving to get in shape.

When I started running, I couldn’t even make it to the mailbox. When I started lifting weights, I had no idea where to begin or what proper form looked like. I had to learn, start small, and gradually build from there. And that’s exactly where I encourage others to begin.

If you haven’t exercised in years, start with a ten-minute walk. If you can already walk comfortably, add some distance or pick up the pace. If your goal is to run three miles, start by walking and gradually introduce short running intervals. If you want to get stronger, begin with basic resistance exercises, learn proper form, and build from there.

The goal isn’t to see how much you can do on Day 1. It’s to build something you can continue doing on Day 100.

Every time you complete one of these small tasks, you’re creating a win. I talk about stacking Ws, with each W representing a small victory. One win builds on another, and over time, those small victories begin producing meaningful results.

A ten-minute walk today might not seem significant, but repeat it consistently, and those efforts add up. As movement becomes part of your routine, you may also find yourself making better choices with your nutrition, sleep, and how you spend your time.

You don’t need an expensive gym membership, fancy equipment, or the perfect workout plan. You just need a place to start. Consistency comes before intensity. Build the habit first, and the progress will follow.

🎯 YOUR WEEK 4 CHALLENGE:

Commit to making movement part of your day this week, even if it’s only for ten minutes. Walk, run, lift weights, stretch, or find another activity you enjoy. Choose something appropriate for your current fitness level and gradually build from there. Remember, rest and recovery are part of the process, too.

Don’t compare your starting point to someone else’s progress. Focus on making small improvements over time.

And remember, you still have more than two months left in 2026. Imagine how much progress you could make before January 1 if you started today.

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.
