2027 STARTS NOW | Make Movement Part of Your Day
One of the biggest misconceptions about exercise is that you need to be capable of exercising for 30 minutes to an hour to make it worthwhile.
You don’t.
You can accomplish quite a bit in just a few minutes, and you might be surprised how much movement you can work into your day without significantly changing your schedule.
For example, I can knock out 50 bodyweight squats in about two minutes. That’s it. Two minutes! And once you’ve built up to doing 20 push-ups at a time, you can knock out a set in less than a minute.
But here’s the important part. You don’t need to start with 50 squats or 20 push-ups.
Maybe today you can only do five bodyweight squats. Great! Do five.
Maybe you can only do two push-ups, or you need to start by doing them against a wall or countertop. That’s perfectly fine, too.
Maybe walking to the end of your street and back is all you’re capable of doing right now.
The goal isn’t to impress anyone. The goal is to start moving.
Next week, add another squat or two. Try another push-up. Walk a little farther. As you get stronger and your endurance improves, continue challenging yourself.
Five squats become ten. Ten become twenty. A short walk around the block eventually becomes a mile.
And something that once seemed difficult becomes part of your normal routine.
Every time you follow through on one of these small commitments, you’re stacking another W. Another win. And those small wins, repeated consistently, begin to produce results.
Don’t overcomplicate it. Don’t wait until you have more time. And don’t convince yourself that a few minutes of movement aren’t worth the effort.
Start where you are. Do what you can. Build from there.
2027 STARTS NOW.
