Heartland 50 miler is tomorrow. Springtime weather in Kansas should be interesting. The forecast has changed a few times this week. At this point I am preparing for brutal wind, 90 degrees, torrential rain, tornados and hail. Hopefully a few of those things don’t happen. I’m excited to hit this course again after running the Heartland 50k and Heartland 100 miler last year. The views through the Flint Hills look like a Windows desktop and you get to see cows.

I race-prepped today with a “Pre-Game” IV, cryotherapy and compression therapy. My workouts have been light this week with extra emphasis on DDP Yoga. Feeling blessed and ready to do this!!!

Forecast says weather will range from 62-77, wind 16-21 MPH (with gusts up to 37) and 55% chance of rain. This is ultra marathon #2 of 5 scheduled for 2024.
