Weight Loss

Flashback Friday – September 6

Flashback Friday!  92 pounds!!  Today is my 606th consecutive day of waking up with severe back pain caused by being struck by a drunk driver.  But guess what?  I feel better today than I did on day 1, day 100 or even day 500.  But hey, I worked hard to lose 92 pounds just the same way that I am working hard to rebuild my back.  Although I woke up today with pain, I still ran 5k (tuning up for a race tomorrow) and hammered out 52 minutes of DDP Yoga.  I also did some rehab work.  Sure, I could have slept till 6:30 and started my day.  No one would care if I missed today’s workout–I have an excuse: a jacked up back.  No sir, no way.  I didn’t lose 92 pounds by hitting snooze and skipping workouts.  I lost 92 pounds by pushing through every day…when it hurts, when its hot, when its cold, when I’m tired, when I’m busy.  You can find an excuse not to take care of you body,  You can find an excuse to eat like garbage.  Knock that off, find an excuse to be the best you.  Do that.  And if you live in Wichita, go run or support the Race for Freedom 5k tomorrow morning.  It supports a great cause that is trying to end human trafficking.  Have a great Friday, y’all!!
