Moving on Week to Week, Making Each Week Better
I need a 2-3 hour period each weekend for thought decompression. Its often found during a solo-long run, a long walk or jet therapy in my hot tub. It often involves a bit of prayer as well. Each week is tough. Its tough for you, for me and everyone else. It’s life. Society tries to find comforts to avoid suffering attempting to make life easier. And that comfort stunts our growth. It allows us to blame others and not be honest with ourselves. The reality is, I control very little. But, am I addressing those areas? I gotta flush out anything I’m holding on to and start a fresh week. Every week. I also need to ask myself’ “what went right, what went wrong, and what could have been better”. Unfortunately, the “what could have been better” list this week has too many items that I CAN control. Luckily, I have an amazing business partner and wife who is fully aware of what we both suck at and what we’re good at. God gave me the best perfect counterpart to my mad scientist, scattered-brain. She makes me better. As I decompress last week and move on to next, I start to ask those 3 questions while brainstorming what the new week’s opportunities look like. I don’t need all the answers tonight, I just need the goal. And I need the discipline to start executing right out of the gate tomorrow. The strength to get through the week will be provided through prayer and trust in God. And you better believe, Monday will start with a tough workout, quiet time with God and Bible reading and then tackling the new week. And of course, DDP Yoga class in the evening. Make Monday your most productive day and have a super week y’all. Go get it.
