2021 Complete

15 degrees for my first run in 2022

2021 fitness goals and accomplishments are in the books and 2022 begins with a fun day. Started New Years morning with a 3 mile run in the cold weather. The wind pounded directly into my face for a full mile. It was exactly the discomfort I wanted to set the tone for 2022. After the run, I attended my wife’s DDP Yoga class.

2021 goals and results

It was the perfect pairing for today’s run. I’m very blessed and thankful for 2021:

-1977 miles ran

-Ran every calendar day, continuing streak beginning November 1, 2019

-17 runs with distance of marathon or greater

-Not For Wimps Trail Half Marathon

-4x4x48 Challenge

-Flint Hills 50 Miler

-Prairie Fire Spring Half Marathon

-Pikes Peak Ascent

-2nd place finish at Race 4 Freedom 5k

-Prairie Fire Fall Full Marathon

-Rails to Trails Fall Extravaganza 100k

-Sanders’ Saunter 50k -199 hours of DDP Yoga

-Finished DDP Yoga L1 Instructor’s Certification

I had to scale back strength training and swimming sessions when I began training for the 100k race. I just didn’t have the bandwidth to fit those goals in whole training for ultras. Maybe next year?

And finally, shout out to my wife Rachel for supporting me through all of this running and fitness madness. It’s a lot to handle and she blows my mind every day. I love you hot stuff!!! Praising Jesus for another awesome year. Looking forward to an amazing 2022. Happy New Year!!
