Flashback Friday – August 30
Flashback Friday! 40 inch waist on the left, 29 inch waist on the right. The guy on the left can’t run to the mailbox, the guy on the right can work out for 3 hours straight on a Saturday. The guy on the left was going through the motions of life, accepting being fat and not chasing goals. The guy on the right is goal orientated in every aspect of life, including fitness and health. Imagine if the guy on the left was the one hit by the drunk driver instead of the guy on the right. I would have probably already had an intrusive surgery right now and would have accepted that my life would always have constant pain. The guy on the left would never get up at 4:30AM for DDP Yoga before heading to Orangetheory Fitness or out for a 5 mile run. My fitness-geek brain and my relentless heart have pushed me each day to continue to get better. I could have used this accident as an excuse not to work out. I could have found some comfort in food by eating right. I’ve had pain in my life every day since January 3, 2018. It would be easier to not work out, take some pills for the pain and lay around feeling sorry for myself. That ain’t happening. Not this guy. I’m working harder in my recovery than I did to lose all that weight you see in this picture. I didn’t just lose 92 pounds. I’ve kept all that weight off for years. Anyone can lose weight…but you have to be determined to make it a lifestyle to keep it off. Go get it! Work hard play hard. Have a great weekend, y’all.
