6 Ways DDPY Made Me a Better Runner

I dabbled with DDPY for several years before working it into my fulltime workout routine 5 years ago. DDPY and cryotherapy were the most critical tools used to recover from my car accident back in 2018 and they make me a better runner today. I’ve found 6 benefits of DDPY that have improved my running performance:

  1. Hamstrings!  Loose hamstrings enhance a runners’ performance, tight hamstrings make runs more difficult and throw off stride.  Tight hamstrings can also lead to other injuries, including knees, hips and low back.
  2. Core Strength  A strong core contributes to improved running performance by providing stability, helping maintain proper posture, and reducing the risk of injuries. It enhances overall body control, enabling more efficient leg movements and endurance during a run.
  3. Post-run  Recovery  Stretching after a run is important because it helps improve flexibility, reduce muscle stiffness, and prevent injuries. It also promotes better circulation, aids in muscle recovery, and contributes to overall post-run relaxation and well-being.  The DDPY app has several workouts under 20 minutes that pair nicely with a run.
  4. Balance  Improving balance helps you become a better runner because it makes you more stable and coordinated, lowering the chances of falling or getting hurt. It also lets you run more efficiently, control your body better, and spread your weight evenly, so you can run longer without feeling tired. Having a strong and balanced body, especially in your core, makes your running style smoother and more controlled.
  5. Less Joint Pain  DDPY is known to lengthen and strengthen joints and ligaments.  Tendons connect muscles to bones, aiding movement, shock absorption, and power transfer, while ligaments stabilize bones to maintain joint stability.
  6. Surviving Hills  Having strong tummy and back muscles is super important for running uphill. They help you stand up straight, stop your upper body from falling forward, and keep you balanced. When you use these muscles, it’s easier to lift your knees and push your legs up the hill, making you a better runner overall.

DDP Yoga was made by a wrestler named Diamond Dallas Page. It mixes regular yoga with exercises that make your muscles work hard and get your heart pumping. The goal is to make you more flexible, stronger, and keep your heart healthy. The workouts include different moves to work lots of muscles and use yoga poses. People like it because it’s good for all fitness levels, with easier options for beginners and harder exercises for those who are more advanced. Many people love it because it helps them feel better physically and overall.
