Day 400
Today is day 400 of the streak. I first wrote about my goal to run/workout 1000 straight days last year.
Over this time, I’ve ran 1683 miles, completed 203 hour of DDP Yoga and added another 188 hours in the gym. I’ve been tracking the number of body weight squats, crunches and sit-ups during this time and have logged over 17,000 each.
My focus over the past week has been speed. My average pace has been in decline while training for the Prairie Fire Half-Marathon and the KUS 6/12/24 hour ultra race. Some people dread the treadmill–I see the challenge. Treadmills are the easiest way for me to alternate speed/active recovery intervals. After warming up, I’ll run at 9+ MPH for 1-2 minutes before dropping the speed down around 7-7.5 fro a 3-4 minute active recovery. Repeat process.
