Workout Streak: Day 300
I began a quest to workout/run for 1,000 consecutive days on November 1, 2019. The goal was simple: run every day for 1,000 straight days while averaging 3.5 miles per day. Additionally, my goal is to average 42 minutes of other workout activities over the 1,000 days. Today marks day 300 of the streak. I decided to celebrate by working out for 300 minutes. 2.5 hours in the early morning before work and 2.5 hours after work. Was it easy? No. Was it worth it? Yes.
I started the morning with 42 minutes of rehab and core work, followed by an hour of DDP Yoga and then a 5.12 mile run. After work, I added on 37 more minutes of rehab/core before a 4.5 mile run and a one-hour hot yoga class. I completed 300 body weight squats, sit-ups and crunches during my core workout time.
I’m blessed and thankful to have made it this far. I was on a 506 day running streak interrupted by 2018’s car accident. I was itching to begin a new steak as soon as my body was able to handle it.
To recap what I’ve done over the first 300 days:
- Ran 1,255 miles
- Completed over 156 hours of DDP Yoga
- Completed over 83 hours of rehab work
- Completed 63 hours of other workouts
- 13,000 body-weight squats, sit-ups and crunches
I’ve kept my body ready for each workout with 99 cryotherapy sessions.
Here’s to the next 700 days and beyond!
